AWS Announces File Cache Service, and Other Storage Perks Amazon Web Services (AWS), presented several storage-related product updates during its Storage Day event. This included a hybrid cloud solution called Amazon File Cache. Amazon File Cache, a high-speed cache that can handle file data stored in multiple locations, on-premises and in the cloud, will be made generally available in 2022. According to Veliswa Boya, AWS senior developer advocate, Amazon File Cache is “temporary and high-performance storage location.” Boya explained that Amazon File Cache “enables you to make dispersed information sets available to file-based AWS applications with a single view and at high speeds with submillisecond latencies, up to hundreds of gigabytes of throughput, and with a unified view.” Amazon File Cache is designed for a wide range of cloud bursting workloads.
