An Accidental IT Leader

Robinson, like many others, did not start her career in technology. She holds a B.A. She earned a B.A. in Egyptology and began her career in retail. After 10 years of working in the retail industry, she was ready to find a job that would allow her to spend more time with her child and free up her weekends and holidays. She was immediately hooked when she got a job as an operations manager at a boutique MSP distributor. She said, “I had never considered a career as an IT professional before but quickly found my home and a passion to fix channel distribution one step at time.”
Robinson was commended for the changes she made at Pax8, including challenging distribution standards to ensure MSPs work with best-in class vendors. She was quickly promoted due to her efforts in improving vendor relations.
Robinson is a major force in the tech world after five years. She is the senior operations manager at Pax8 UK and drives inclusion in the workplace. She also works closely with vendors and IT providers to provide data-driven insight. Robinson is also a member of CompTIA’s UK&I executive board. She is passionate about driving change, and she works to increase knowledge sharing across the channel. She stated that passion, drive, and determination are the key ingredients to success.
Robinson hosted a Women in Tech session in 2022. She hopes to encourage more women into technology careers. She is a strong advocate for inclusion and change and works tirelessly to promote diversity in the tech industry. She believes that the lack of diversity is due to a lack in awareness about the roles within the industry. She stated that there is still much to be done to balance the numbers of men and women in the industry.
